My most recent typography project is to create a poster that explains what my favorite typeface is and why. One requirement is that the message has to be communicated with copy and a strong visual execution.
My favorite typeface is Bodoni. Ok, maybe I can't narrow it down to just one typeface... but I do admire Bodoni because of its character and overall uniqueness.

And some info about Bodoni:
-Bodoni is a modern typeface
-Modern typefaces are called modern in reference to late 1700s-1900s modern, not 2010 modern
-Their style corresponds with the rational thinking of the Enlightenment
-Modern typefaces evolved from transitional style typefaces
-Modern typefaces are also characterized by their extreme contrasts of thick and thin (thin strokes can be as small as hairlines)
-Another typeface similar to Bodoni, is Didot
-Both Bodoni and Didot emphasize heavy vertical stress
-Their serifs are horizontal and unbracketed
-Bodoni was created by Giambattista Bodoni who is known as the "Father of Modern Type"
-Bodoni has several variations (for example Bauer Bodoni) and some of the book versions can be used for body copy
-Bodoni is also great for logos, headlines and posters
